Shipping & Returns Policy

Shipping Policy

Shipping time

All orders are typically shipped within 48 hours, Monday through Friday, 8amโ€“5pm Eastern Time.

Manufacturer drop-shipped products, custom orders, freight shipments, and backordered items may be subject to delays beyond our control. We will make every effort to expedite all orders.

Carriers

We use USPS and UPS to deliver many orders.

Some items that are drop-shipped, oversized, or shipped by freight may be shipped by different carriers at the discretion of the manufacturer or freight provider.

Order tracking

If a tracking number is provided by the shipping carrier, we will update your order with the tracking information.

Please note that some orders using USPS First Class Mail may not have tracking numbers.

Backorders

If an item goes on backorder and you paid for shipping, we may ship the in-stock portion of your order first. When the backordered item becomes available, we will ship the rest of your order. You will not be charged additional shipping and handling for the second shipment.

If you selected free shipping and an item is backordered, we may hold the order and ship it complete.

P.O. Box shipping

Some small items may ship by USPS, but UPS and freight shipments cannot be delivered to a P.O. Box. For the smoothest delivery, we recommend using a physical street address during checkout.

Shipping terminal pickup and rerouting

We do not allow pickup at the shipping terminal or rerouting of the shipment after it has been arranged.

Free Shipping & Shipping Rates

Free shipping

We ship qualifying orders over $99 to the Lower 48 States for free.

Free shipping does not apply to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or international orders. Some oversized, hazardous, freight, or special-handling items may not qualify for free shipping.

How free shipping orders are shipped

Free shipping orders will be shipped by the most economical method for Harris Welding Supplies.

You may choose a specific service at checkout when available, but you will be responsible for the shipping charges if you select one of those paid methods.

Shipping rates

The shipping rate for your order is based on the weight of the products and your delivery location.

Before the final checkout page, you will be shown the cost of shipping and will have the opportunity to review the charge before placing your order.

Freight Shipping & Large Equipment

Important: Equipment shipped by common carrier truck must be unloaded by the receiver. Truck drivers will only move equipment to the tail of the truck.

All equipment shipped by common carrier truck must be unloaded by the receiver. Truck drivers will only move equipment to the tail of the truck.

Please make sure you have the equipment, people, or arrangements needed to safely unload your shipment.

Residential freight deliveries

If your delivery is going to a residential address, make certain you have the ability to unload the equipment.

If you do not have a way to unload the shipment, please make arrangements with the delivery company to bring your order on a liftgate truck when available.

Liftgate service

Liftgate service may be available through the freight carrier when arranged in advance. Availability, cost, and scheduling may vary by carrier and delivery location.

If you believe you need liftgate service, please contact the freight carrier when they call to schedule delivery.

Phone number and email for freight delivery

Please provide a phone number and email address with your order. The trucking company may need to contact you to schedule delivery.

Shipping Damage, Shortages & Discrepancies

Inspect your shipment before signing

We highly recommend inspecting your purchase thoroughly before signing for and accepting the shipment.

Look for visible damage, missing pieces, torn packaging, crushed cartons, broken bands, punctures, or other signs of damage.

What if there is visible damage or a shortage?

If there is visible damage or a shortage, make sure the damage or shortage is clearly noted with the carrier before accepting the shipment.

If a shipment is accepted without noting any damage or loss, the freight company may assume the shipment was delivered in good condition.

What happens after I sign for a shipment?

Once a shipment is signed for without damage or shortage noted, the carrier may treat the shipment as delivered in good condition. This can limit our ability to file a freight claim on your behalf.

What if an item is missing from my shipment?

If an item is missing from your shipment, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number, the item you believe is missing, and photos of the packaging if available.

Some orders may ship in multiple shipments, especially when an item is backordered, drop-shipped, or shipped from a manufacturer.

What if I received the wrong item?

If you believe you received the wrong item, please contact us before using, installing, or returning the product.

Please provide your order number, the item received, the item you expected, and photos of the product label, packaging, and part number if possible.

What happens if I refuse a delivery?

Refused deliveries may be treated as a return and may be subject to return shipping charges, original shipping charges, and applicable restocking fees.

If there is a delivery problem, please contact us before refusing the shipment whenever possible.

Canadian & International Orders

Canadian duties, taxes, and brokerage fees

Canadian customers are responsible for any duties, taxes, brokerage fees, import fees, or other charges that may be incurred when importing items into Canada.

Free shipping exclusions for Canadian orders

Free shipping does not apply to Canadian orders. Shipping charges, duties, taxes, brokerage fees, import fees, and other related charges are the responsibility of the customer.

Orders outside the United States and Canada

For countries outside the United States and Canada, please contact us before ordering so we can review payment and shipping options.

Return Policy

30-day return window

You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

Please contact us before sending a return so we can confirm eligibility and help direct the return properly.

Return eligibility

To be eligible for a return, the item must meet the following criteria:

  • The item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
  • The item must be in the original packaging.
  • The item must include the receipt or proof of purchase.
Items that may not be eligible for return

Merchandise that has been worn, used, installed, altered, damaged, or removed from its original packaging may not be accepted for return or exchange.

Special-order, custom, installed, used, worn, altered, damaged, or incomplete items may not be eligible for return.

Return shipping charges

If the return is not due to an error on our part, the customer is responsible for paying the shipping charges to return the item to us for a refund or exchange.

Warranty issues and manufacturer defects

Items must be in original unused condition to be returned unless there is a manufacturer defect.

Warranty issues may need to be handled through the manufacturer or an authorized repair facility, depending on the product. If you believe an item is defective, contact us before sending it back.

Wrong item ordered by the customer

If you ordered the wrong item, please contact us before returning it. The item must be unused, in original packaging, and otherwise meet our return requirements.

Return shipping charges and applicable restocking fees may apply.

Refunds & Restocking Fees

Refund process

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received it. After inspection, we will notify you of the status of your refund.

If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card or original method of payment. The time it takes for the credit to appear may depend on your card issuerโ€™s policies.

Restocking fee

Approved returns may be subject to a 20% restocking fee. This fee may be deducted from your refund.

Items that are used, installed, altered, damaged, missing packaging, missing parts, or otherwise outside the return requirements may be refused or may be subject to additional fees.

Original shipping and handling

We do not refund the original shipping and handling charges paid on the order unless the return is due to an error on our part.

This is especially important for equipment, special-order items, warranty concerns, damaged shipments, wrong items received, or items that may not meet the standard return requirements.

What to include with your return

Please include a note stating the reason for your return and include the original receipt or proof of purchase.

We recommend including your order number, name, phone number, and email address inside the return package.
